TENCEL™ lyocell is a Tencel branded lyocell fibre/fabric produced through environmentally responsible manufacturing processes, starting from sustainably-sourced wood. TENCEL™ Lyocell fibres are created from wood pulp – typically from eucalyptus trees. These fibres are regenerated fibres, which means they are made by dissolving the cellulose fibers of a plant with chemicals before being spun into yarn, and then finally woven to create an extremely smooth fabric. Tencel production uses environmentally friendly and non-toxic solvents, making its production substainable and "green". If cared for properly, you can keep your Tencel sheets looking beautiful for years to come. Here are some simple guidelines: WASHING Wash your Tencel sheets with like colours on low temperatures in cold water, and keep them separate from other laundry to avoid getting hooked to zippers or latches, which can cause pilling. Use the gentle machine cycle and a mild detergent to prevent damaging or wearing away the fabric. Avoid using bleach and fabric softeners, and do not dry-clean your Tencel sheets. DRYING You can tumble dry your sheets so long as you use low heat and a gentle tumble setting. Remove the Tencel sheets from the dryer when slightly damp and hang or lay flat to dry. When hanging the sheets out to dry, keep out of direct sunlight. IRONING For a pressed look, iron the sheets while they are still slightly damp, on low heat setting. STORAGE Store your Tencel sheets in a cool and dry place, away from the sunlight. The best is to store your Tencel sheets in the nifty cotton drawstring bag which your sheets came in.
